Beef and Broccoli Stir Fry

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Cook white rice
  2. Thinly slice the broccoli and ginger
  3. Quarter the bok choy
  4. Roughly chop the garlic and chillies
  5. Slice flank steak into desired size for stir fry
  6. Coat flank steak in soy sauce, shaoxing wine, bicarb soda, and cornflour
  7. The flank steak marinade should not be too runny, just enough to cover the meat
  8. Allow the flank steak to marinate for no more than 5 minutes
  9. To make the stir fry sauce combine oyster sauce, shaoxing wine, soy sauce, white vinegar, sugar, and black pepper
  10. Turn heat to high and allow pan to get screaming hot
  11. Add vegetable oil and stir fry ginger, garlic, and chillies until fragrant
  12. Add flank steak, spread around the pan and sear for a minute on each side
  13. Add broccoli and bok choy and stir fry for a minute
  14. Add stir fry sauce to the pan and toss to coat
  15. If required, use a cornflour slurry to thicken the sauce to desired consistency
  16. Serve on a bed of cooked white rice
